FAQ
Answers to the questions we hear most often
Direct Primary Care is a simpler, more personal approach to medicine. Instead of billing insurance for every visit, you pay a flat monthly fee for direct access to your physician—allowing for longer visits, faster scheduling, and a true doctor–patient relationship.
Think of it like your car—DPC is routine maintenance (oil changes, tune-ups, keeping things running smoothly), while insurance is for the accident. Traditional insurance-based care often dictates how care is delivered, whereas DPC is built around what you actually need.
We do not bill insurance. This allows us to focus entirely on your care without the restrictions, delays, or administrative burden that come with insurance-based medicine.
That said, we strongly recommend maintaining insurance—ideally a high-deductible or catastrophic plan—to cover unexpected, high-cost events like hospitalizations, surgeries, or specialist care.
Your membership gives you unlimited access to your physician, including:
- Office visits without time constraints
- Same- or next-day appointments
- Direct communication by text, call, or video
- Preventive care and chronic disease management
This model allows us to manage the majority of your healthcare needs with continuity and depth.
While we manage and coordinate most of your care, services outside of primary care—such as hospitalizations, specialist visits, and advanced imaging—are not included.
We help you navigate these services and often guide you toward transparent, cost-effective options.
Foundations MD Primary Care: $125/month
Foundations MD Health Renewal: $250/month
We also offer à la carte services for advanced testing, procedures, and performance optimization.
You can still use your insurance for:
- Labs and imaging
- Medications
- Specialist and hospital care
DPC simply replaces insurance for your primary care, not everything else.
Yes. We offer telemedicine for follow-ups, acute concerns, and convenience—so you can access care wherever you are.
We do ask for a 6-month initial commitment. This allows us to deliver care with greater depth and continuity—taking the time to understand your health fully and guide meaningful, lasting change. After the first 6 months, your membership transitions to month-to-month and can be canceled at any time.
Simply choose your membership and schedule your first visit. From there, we build a personalized plan centered around your health, your goals, and your long-term well-being.
